Derek Wright has been the Head Professional at Hamilton Golf Club since November 2002. As an AA PGA Professional, his goal is to help golfers of all abilities reach their potential and enhance their enjoyment of the game through high‑quality, tailored coaching for both groups and individuals. Derek regularly attends seminars and coaching clinics to stay up to date with the latest developments in golf instruction. As a TrackMan Level 1 & 2 Certified Professional, he uses industry‑leading technology to support player improvement. Whether it’s club fitting, distance gapping, or swing analysis, Derek has the expertise and tools to make a meaningful difference to every golfer he works with.
Derek is supported by David Henderson, who has been associated with Hamilton Golf Club since the age of 15. A three‑time Junior Club Champion and a recognised player at club, regional and national level, David brings both experience and enthusiasm to the professional team. David is also the club’s resident equipment specialist, and you’ll most often find him in the Pro Shop offering advice, support, and product knowledge to members and visitors.
Patrick qualified as a PGA Professional in 2018 and has worked across several respected facilities, including time spent under Major Champion Paul Lawrie. From 2022–26, Patrick served as a PGA Teaching Professional at Trump Turnberry, where he developed a strong passion for coaching players of all levels. He offers a wide range of coaching sessions, club fittings, and player‑development programmes. Members can look out for regular group classes, coaching clinics, and individual lesson availability.
