Hamilton Golf Club relocated to its current Riccarton site in 1925, where the legendary James Braid was commissioned to design a new course for the membership. Over a century later, despite thoughtful enhancements over the years, Braid’s original vision remains beautifully preserved.
Stretching to 6,452 yards from the back tees, the course offers an enjoyable yet testing challenge in a picturesque setting. Widely regarded as one of the finest layouts in Scotland’s central belt, Hamilton is renowned for its immaculate fairways, superbly maintained greens, and strategic bunkering. Subtle elevation changes and the occasional blind tee shot ensure that golfers of all abilities will find both variety and reward throughout their round.
Before you head to the first tee, the club’s excellent practice facilities make it easy to warm up properly. Players can take advantage of four covered driving bays, a dedicated short-game area, and a full indoor Trackman swing studio.
To complete your day, enjoy first-class hospitality in the fully refurbished clubhouse – an inviting space to relax, dine, and reflect on your round.
Over the years, Hamilton has had the distinction of hosting various prestigious events; these have included the British Blind Open in 2013, the International Children’s Games in 2011 and Ladies Home Internationals in 1992. In 2025 the course successfully hosted Scottish Golf’s Scottish Boys’ Area Team Championship as well as the regional Medal Championship. In 2026 & 2027 the club is proud to host the prestigious Scottish Girls’ U16 Open Championship and Scottish Boys’ Amateur Championship.
We kindly ask all golfers to be appropriately and suitably dressed in recognised golfing attire. Anyone not wearing clothing appropriate for golf may unfortunately be denied access to the course.
